Il forme une plate-forme orient\u00e9e sud qui poss\u00e8de une vue splendide sur les montagnes et le lac L\u00e9man. Au nord, des vignes sont cultiv\u00e9es en terrasses qui caract\u00e9risent la r\u00e9gion de Lavaux \u2013 patrimoine mondial de l&#8217;Unesco. Par le plan d&#8217;am\u00e9nagement \u00ab Cully-Gare \u00bb et plus concr\u00e8tement par le pr\u00e9sent concours, la plateforme de la gare sera enti\u00e8rement transform\u00e9e. Les activit\u00e9s ferroviaires et artisanales c\u00e9deront leur place \u00e0 une s\u00e9rie de nouvelles constructions h\u00e9bergeant des logements, des commerces et des services tertiaires. Ce projet d&#8217;envergure &#8211; qui s&#8217;inscrit dans l&#8217;environnement unique de Lavaux \u2013 pose la question d&#8217;une nouvelle centralit\u00e9 du village de Cully. L&#8217;expression de ce renouveau d&#8217;envergure doit r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 un site charg\u00e9 d&#8217;histoire tout en int\u00e9grant les contraintes du programme et de la proximit\u00e9 au all\u00e9e qui relie les futurs b\u00e2timents et l&#8217;\u00e9cole \u00e0 la place de la gare. Par rapport aux constructions existantes du village, la densit\u00e9 et la surface construite d\u00e9finies par le PPA \u00abCully-Gare\u00bb sont importantes. Le projet propose une sous-partition des volumes par une c\u00e9sure cot\u00e9 rue. Ce geste permet de r\u00e9duire l&#8217;\u00e9chelle des nouvelles constructions afin de r\u00e9pondre au contexte construit et de r\u00e9partir les diff\u00e9rentes fonctions du programme. Les b\u00e2timents modulent ainsi l&#8217;espace de rue et d\u00e9finissent une \u00e9chelle humaine pour ce nouveau quartier. L&#8217;image du projet s&#8217;inspire des constructions historiques de Lavaux. Les maisons s&#8217;implantent directement sur l&#8217;espace public. La construction massive en pierre enduite des b\u00e2tisses historiques et les murets en pierre apparente de vignes trouvent une r\u00e9interpr\u00e9tation architecturale contemporaine dans les fa\u00e7ades du projet.<\/p>\n<p>Aux \u00e9tages, le plan dispose les appartements en fa\u00e7ade en leur offrant les meilleures conditions de vue et de lumi\u00e8re naturelle. La circulation est plac\u00e9e au centre et re\u00e7oit de la lumi\u00e8re du jour par des ouvertures g\u00e9n\u00e9reuses au nord et par une cour int\u00e9rieure. Entre les espaces de vie des appartements et le corridor se trouve une couche d&#8217;espaces servants qui contient les salles d&#8217;eau, les installations techniques, les r\u00e9duits et les entr\u00e9es. Elle cr\u00e9e une s\u00e9paration acoustique entre les espaces communs et les appartement et contribue ainsi \u00e0 la qualit\u00e9 des logements.Les espaces ext\u00e9rieurs des appartements forment une s\u00e9rie de balcons en retrait.
